Mediation work can be emotionally draining and some cases can test your understanding of the mediator role, identifying gaps in your skills and knowledge.
Case Supervision is a structured way of getting consultative support, allowing you to develop your skills beyond what you learned in your training, and helping to ensure that you are mediating effectively, professionally, and safely.
Reflect on completed mediation cases
Review ethics and safety of your practice
Identify service-level improvements
We carry out an in-depth pre-course consultation prior to delivery, and then tailor the materials and case scenarios to those specific requirements.
All of our trainers are practising mediators with many years of experience. They are also certified adult educators, meaning you’re in capable hands during your training!
ISO-9001 is the internationally-recognised standard for quality management. You can be sure that all of our training will be carried out in an efficient and quality-focused manner.
At any point following your training, you can get in touch with us to discuss queries and ask for advice. We can also provide you with any forms or documents that you might need.
These sessions are designed to develop your mediation skills and sharpen your insight as a practising mediator.
At the conclusion of either the half-day or full-day session, you will be able to:
Reflect on cases that they have been able to work on
What went well and what could have gone better: informing how you will approach your next cases
Review the ethics and safety of their current practice
Making sure that your mediation practice is safe, ethical, and professional.
Identify improvements to you practice
Practical steps to improve the service, including advice from an expert mediator
Our Case Supervision sessions can be tailored to the group's requirement and a lot of the content will be decided on the day.
A typical session may include:
Individual presentation of cases
Group discussion on points arising from cases presented
Highlighting of learning points
Ethical and professional considerations: working safely
Input on specialist topics from the supervisor
Identifying ongoing training needs
Delivered face-to-face or online, our professional supervisors are qualified and experienced mediators, trained in a recognised and widely-used model of case supervision.
In these sessions, groups of in-house mediators can have an opportunity to reflect on mediated cases, continue to develop their skills, and ensure that their work is safe and ethical.
