Mediation Skills for Housing Professionals
Train in resolving neighbourhood conflicts, family disputes, and low level ASB cases
This two-day course is intended for groups working in housing associations and local authorities, whose role involves repairing or improving relationships in a neighbourhood setting.
It equips you to be able to address interpersonal conflict at an early and informal level, ensuring that situations do not escalate to the point of requiring formal intervention. The course also provides the time required to explore each stage of our tried and tested mediation model, and the opportunity to build up your confidence and competence by practising your mediation skills on some case simulations throughout the two days.
On the course, you will learn:
- Key mediation skills: a selection of essential tools drawn from our 5-day qualification course
- The opportunities, benefits, and limitations of running facilitated conversations
- How to decide which sorts of neighbourhood disputes would be suitable for this approach
- Facilitating conversations involving neighbours and tenants
- Building mediation skills into your professional role
This course is designed for groups of 4-12 delegates when delivered online, or for 6-16 delegates when delivered face-to-face. If you are an individual looking for similar training, we would recommend our Mediation Skills for Facilitated Conversations course.
