UK Mediation’s Dr Mike Talbot to Speak at CIPD Annual Conference & Exhibition

Scott McIver Articles

We are delighted to announce that our CEO and Founder, Dr Mike Talbot, has been invited to speak at this year’s CIPD Annual Conference and Exhibition.

Titled ‘Change Management: Turning Resistance into Collaboration’, the session will take place on the first day of the conference (Wednesday 6th November) in the Skills and Organisations Arena. It will begin at 4pm and will last for around half an hour.

To give you a sample of what Dr Talbot will be discussing, here’s the synopsis for the session:

“We are inherently resistant to change. Change management needs to ensure that we hear, re-frame, and empathise with those for whom change feels challenging. Join this session to learn how mediation provides these exact tools.”

Not only does this add to the excitement of exhibiting for the thirteenth year running, we are also looking forward to sharing our ideas on change management. This is one of the key themes for this year’s conference and we received some excellent feedback from CIPD organisers when discussing the session.

Dr Talbot had this to say about the excellent news:

“Positive management of organisational change is a major challenge for many HR professionals. As we all know, if it is managed poorly, change is known to be a prime source of unnecessary workplace conflict.

UK Mediation have been supporting organisational change with our clients for the past 20 years, either through our training courses or with the mediation services we offer. I’m now looking forward to sharing my thoughts and ideas on this topic during our session.”

Held at Manchester Central on 6th and 7th November, the annual exhibition and conference is expected to welcome around 4,000 attendees and over 200 exhibitors, making it the largest HR-based conference in
the UK.

UK Mediation will be exhibiting on both days – office staff and mediators in tow – and we look forward to meeting past learners, potential clients, and industry thought-leaders over the course of the event.

So, will you be attending this year’s CIPD Annual Conference and Exhibition?
