This past Wednesday and Thursday, we were pleased to once again exhibit at the CIPD Annual Conference & Exhibition. It was our twelfth consecutive year exhibiting at CIPD’s flagship event, which brings together HR and People Development professionals to share and showcase the latest industry trends and ideas.
It was great to have the opportunity to meet and speak to new potential customers, as well as catch up with familiar faces, past trainees and webinar regulars! The event attracts over 4,000 delegates and nearly 200 exhibitors, so there were certainly plenty of people with which to discuss our mediation services and training options.
Developed especially for the event, our superhero-themed stand featured our touchscreen ‘Mediation Frenzy‘ game, in which players had to tap away negative traits that could affect the mediation process, including ‘gossip‘, ‘resentment‘ and ‘grudges‘. It proved to be extremely popular with attendees and other exhibitors, with many people coming back for second, third, and even fourth attempts over the course of the exhibition.
On top of this, we also brought along a ‘face-in-the-hole’ board, which temporarily transformed attendees into mediation superheroes for the perfect photo opportunity! We also had loads of stuff to give away, including retro sweets, pens, stress balls, and bags – after all, who doesn’t love a good freebie?!
Not only were we pleased with the attention that our “super-stand” received, we were ecstatic with the news that we came second in the Best Stand of the Year competition! Our plan all along was to present mediation in a fun, entertaining and eye-catching way, and we were more than happy to be recognised for exactly that.
Now that we’re back in the office, we’re looking forward to continuing conversations and working with some of the organisations and individuals that we met at this year’s CIPD, whether it be helping them to implement mediation into their workplace or welcoming them on to one of our accredited training courses.
If you missed us this time around, we will be exhibiting again in 2019… and I’m sure that we’ll have something just as special planned!
